Strengthening Ties in Digital Entrepreneurship in Indonesia, Singapore, and Southeast Asia | 12 October 2023, Jakarta, Seribu Rasa Gunawarman

The Coalition for Digital Prosperity in Asia (DPA) organized a networking event in collaboration with the Singapore Global Network (SGN) on 12 October 2023 in Jakarta. This event saw the participation of more than 70 esteemed individuals who represented over 40 small and medium Enterprises (SMEs) encompassing various digital sectors, including FinTech, AgriTech, and PropTech. Additionally, this networking event included trade association representatives (including those from DPA’s moratorium workshop) and prominent policy influencers from KOMINFO, Kemenkop UKM, and the ASEAN Secretariat.

Charlie Hartono, serving as DPA’s Representative, and Valerina Yeong, SEA Regional Director, SGN, started the event by delivering updates on DPA’s rapidly expanding regional partnerships, the identification, identifying digital policy enablers for DPA members, and DPA and SGN’s strategic plans to foster collaborations benefitting SMBs seeking expansion opportunities in Singapore and the wider Asia-Pacific region.

During the event, DPA members Mikiko Steven, Managing Director of Xendit; Firnando Buenayre Sirait, CEO of HARA; and Benjamin Wong, Co-Founder and CEO of Kinobi, were featured. These distinguished SME changemakers engaged in a Fireside Chat, providing valuable insights into their experiences and challenges in establishing and growing digital SMBs. DPA Indonesia Secretariat Anastasia Putri moderated the Chat.

The evening concluded with a time of networking, allowing the attendees from the government, associations, and the industry to get to know each other in an informal setting.
